Leicestershire Constabulary have today asked for help to locate a WHITE FORD TRANSIT VAN, registration YT10 OTZ which has been associated with a burglary in Long Clawson. Please keep an eye open for this vehicle and report any sighting IMMEDIATELY to the Police on 0116 222 2222.

Chester family

I am wanting to find any further information about our Chester family that were living in Long Clawson in the 1800's. Through the 1831 census, I have found two John Chesters working in Hose, both born in Clawson and a year apart in age. At the time of the census they worked as agricultural labourers and lived/worked in adjoining properties. One worked for Richard Heurd (Hourd) a farmer with 54 acres. My problem is which one is our ancestor? If anyone can help with this problem I would be truly grateful. I have studied your website and would love to visit, but I live in New Zealand and am unable to come. It is a wonderful website with all sorts of information.
